Palm Beach, Tended
for Over Four Decades

The island's most trusted name in residential landscape design, installation, and maintenance — quietly caring for Palm Beach's finest private estates since 1976.

Over Four Decades of Craft on the Island

Scott Lewis' Gardening & Trimming was founded in 1976 with a simple conviction: the gardens of Palm Beach deserve someone who will care for them with the same pride and attention their owners bring to everything else in their lives. What began as one man with a truck and a set of good tools has grown into one of the most respected boutique landscape firms in South Florida.

For more than four decades, the company has designed, installed, and maintained some of the most celebrated private gardens on Palm Beach Island. From comprehensive estate landscapes to meticulous weekly maintenance, the team brings deep horticultural knowledge, a craftsman's eye for detail, and an understanding of the island's unique microclimate that only comes from decades of working this land.

Beyond private estates, the firm has lent its expertise to several of West Palm Beach's most prominent public landscape projects — work that reflects the same standard of care applied at a civic scale. But at its heart, this remains a company built on personal relationships, many of them spanning two and three generations of the same families.

"A great garden isn't built in a season. It's a conversation between the gardener and the land — and we've been having that conversation for a very long time."

Bespoke Landscape Services for Palm Beach's Finest Properties

Every property on the island has its own character — its architecture, its light, its relationship to the water. Our services are tailored to honor that individuality, drawing on decades of experience with the plants, soils, and salt air that define this landscape.

Landscape Design & Installation

Custom garden design for Palm Beach estates, from the first site walk through the final planting. We work with your architecture, your preferences, and the particular character of your property to create landscapes that feel as though they've always been there — specifying everything from royal palms and coconut palms to flowering bougainvillea, hibiscus, and carefully selected specimen tropicals.

Ongoing Maintenance & Garden Care

White-glove, scheduled maintenance that keeps your property at its absolute finest year-round. Our crews know Palm Beach plant life intimately — the pruning schedules, the salt tolerance, the seasonal rhythms that keep a garden looking effortless. We handle everything from weekly mowing and edging to detailed seasonal bed rotations and storm preparation.

Ficus Hedging & Topiary

The sculpted ficus hedge is a hallmark of Palm Beach, and few firms understand its care the way we do. From privacy walls of Ficus benjamina to formal clipped topiary, we shape and maintain hedging that is dense, healthy, and architecturally precise — providing the green structure that defines the island's most iconic streetscapes.

Palm & Tropical Specimen Care

Royal palms, coconut palms, and mature tropical specimens are signature elements of any Palm Beach property — and they require specialized knowledge. Our team handles everything from careful pruning and nutritional programs to hurricane preparation and post-storm recovery, ensuring your palms and specimen plantings remain healthy and striking for decades.

Irrigation & Drainage Systems

South Florida's climate demands irrigation systems that are efficient, reliable, and thoughtfully zoned for the specific needs of each planting area. We design, install, and maintain drip and spray irrigation systems as well as drainage solutions that protect your property from standing water — keeping your landscape thriving through both dry season and summer rains.

Seasonal Color & Specialty Planting

Curated rotations of tropical and subtropical color — from cascading bougainvillea and vivid hibiscus to fragrant plumeria and jasmine. We select species that thrive in our microclimate and compose arrangements that bring texture, color, and fragrance to your garden throughout the year, refreshing beds seasonally to keep the landscape dynamic and alive.

— M.H., Palm Beach

When we purchased our estate, the gardens were in disrepair. Scott didn't just restore them — he reimagined them entirely while honoring the original Mediterranean design. The result is the most beautiful property on our street.
